What’s the difference between Team Site and Team Site - SharePoint Online Configuration?

I was creating some new site collections recently and I noticed a new site template under the Enterprise tab of the new site collection interface labeled Team Site – SharePoint Online configuration.
I was curious so I provisioned a new site collection with that template to see what made it so special. It turns out, not much. I also deployed a site using the regular Team Site template on the Collaboration tab. The only difference I could find was on the home page.

Can you spot the difference? The new site template is slightly more social. It has a link to the Newsfeed in the navigation. From what I can tell that’s the only difference. I compared features and even looked at both sites through SharePoint Designer and couldn’t tell any other difference. Basically, if you want a newsfeed link in your navigation, go with the new template.
